TCE opened it's downtown LA headquarters as an anchor to statewide conferencing facilities, 125,000+ community/nonprofit leaders use our facilities to advance health equity every year.

TCE Headquarters

The first of The Center for Healthy Communities’ venues, the Los Angeles facility was built in response to the growing need for convening space by non-profit organizations engaged in health issues.

Conference facilities are provided free of charge to organizations whose programs advance The California Endowment’s mission to expand access to affordable, quality healthcare for underserved individuals and communities, and to promote fundamental improvements in the health status of all Californians.

Bordering Chinatown and Olvera Street, two of the oldest and most culturally significant neighborhoods in the city, the LEED-certified building was designed to embody the values of wellness, diversity, and accessibility.

Anchored by a central courtyard, the campus reflects a distinctly Californian sense of space, emphasizing the relationships possible between indoor and outdoor environments. Architectural references to Union Station, Terminal Annex and Mission design; site specific, locally-themed art; and gardens that reflect a connection to the riparian ecology of the nearby Los Angeles River Greenway express the campus’ identification with the natural and cultural landscapes of Southern California.

The Los Angeles conference center is a multisector, multicultural cross section of the community it serves. Use of The Center for Healthy Communities venues are open to the following eligible organizations:

  • Nonprofit organizations that are exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and are classified as “not a private foundation” under Section 509(a)
  • Independent, sponsored projects of a nonprofit Section 501(c)(3) organization acting as a fiscal sponsor
  • Government and public agencies

“In the decade ahead, I invite philanthropic leaders – Boards & Executives – to emphasize transformation over the transaction, support ecosystems of community power, contribute to replacing rapacious capitalism with inclusive capitalism, and recognize that being neutral on matters of race is the equivalent of complicity with racial injustice.”
