Robert Williams channels rebellion into advocacy and art in the face of oppression against the LGBTQ+ community.
Currently working in funding and sponsoring nonprofit organizations in Los Angeles County, and as a former Grant Analyst with The California Endowment, Williams has carved out a professional niche supporting community-based organizations and uplifting the voices of marginalized communities. Williams has also stayed active as a volunteer with the Los Angeles LGBT Center since 2008.

Williams is thankful for the light exuded by his friends, who have been leaders in self-expression in LGBTQIA culture. The sense of closeness, creativity and celebration they find through makeup and in “the absurd” brings a freedom that everyone should get to experience. Williams stands firmly behind trans youth—who are growing in a country with increased anti-trans legislation—and the trans community as a whole, who are responsible for queer liberation.
