Bob’s Blog – On Colorado Springs
Once again, we dedicate time and space, and thoughts to lives lost and damaged by gun violence in a mass shooting. And, once again, it appears that the venom of hate is at play, this time in Colorado Springs.
Further, and yet again the LGBTQIA community is targeted. Ironically, and in a painful coincidence, during the national Transgender Day of Remembrance.
In this week of Thanksgiving, we offer acknowledgment and gratitude to the leaders, activists, and organizations who dedicate their entire selves to battling anti-LGBTQIA, anti-Black, and anti-immigrant structural oppression, and hate. Many of you have our funding support, but we are with you morally and spiritually as well. Those among you who are Queer and/or Trans affected by this senseless tragedy, my thoughts and spirit are with you in prayer and in other ways. You are me, and I am you. At TCE, we will not rest until the full and unapologetic inclusion of Dr. Martin Luther King’s Beloved Community is attained in California and across our nation.
