Dr. Tony Iton Honored with Black History Month Legends Award

In celebration of Black History Month, the California Legislative Black Caucus honored The California Endowment's Anthony Iton, M.D., Senior Vice President, Healthy Communities, with the Black History Month Legends Award on Feb. 24-25, 2010, in Sacramento.

The California Endowment Expands Its Commitment to Minority-Led Nonprofits Working to Support Improved Health in Communities of Color

The California Endowment announced an expansion of its longstanding support of minority-led nonprofits, with more than $1.4 million in new funding to strengthen grassroots organizations focused on improving the health and well-being of communities of color.

The California Endowment awards grants to organizations which support our mission “to expand access to affordable, quality health care for underserved individuals and communities, and to promote fundamental improvements in the health status of all Californians.”

Partners Selected for 10-year Initiative

The Endowment recently announced the places selected for its 10-year strategic initiative. The goal of Building Healthy Communities is to support the development of healthy communities throughout California.

The Center for Healthy Communities (CHC), builds leadership and capacity within the nonprofit health sector to mobilize communities for social change.
